Hodological, neurochemical and functional analysis of neuronal systems in the organization of motivated behaviors.
Description
The laboratory has been devoted mainly to the analysis of the expression and hodologia of some neuropeptides and hormones, especially concentrating hormone melanin and the corticotrophin releasing factor, aimed at understanding the role of these neuroactive substances in the control of cognitive functions, learning, memory, sexual behavior, the control of energy balance, the maternal behavior and response to “stress”. Therefore, the group uses the techniques of retrograde and anterograde neuronal tracer, in situ hybridization, selective CNS lesions, transcription factors and immunohistochemistry, qRT-PCR, microarray, Western blotting, enzyme-immunoassay, Elisa, RNAseq, smallRNA -seq.
