About us

The Research Training Program (MS and PhD) in Morphofunctional Sciences at Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo was created in 1972 (at that time called PhD program in Functional Anatomy: Structure and Ultrastructure) previously focused at using the cadaver as an investigatory tool. More recently, starting in 2004, our Program was profoundly restructured, incorporating a variety of new Research areas along with modern scientific investigatory equipment. Our main aim is to shape Professional Researchers able to deal with Biomedical Sciences and also Teaching. Our Research training program allows admission at MS and PhD levels, which can be either accomplished in sequence or rather, start directly in the PhD program level depending on the student’s capabilities and aims. Our multidisciplinary staff has 21 Advisors performing research in 1) Neurosciences, 2) Cell and Molecular Biology applied to different systems and 3) Functional Anatomy. The students in our training program, in addition to productive science are also involved in events such as the Anatomy Journey and Morphofunctional Sciences Symposia. To get more information about our Research Training Program contact our technical assistance or directly our training program Committee.
